Selling your Home
Selling your home can seem frightening, but designing an effective real estate campaign can help you see results in record time. There are several simple ways to get the word out there and bring potential buyers to your door.
First, put up an easy to read for sale by owner sign with your contact number in large print. Get a professional sign made, it’s worth the extra money because it lets potential buyers know you’re serious.
Write a real estate ad for the weekend newspaper with a catchy headline that highlights one of the great features of your home. Create a hook with warm, welcoming words in your headline. This type of ad is not too expensive and reaches a large number of potential buyers. Include your phone number and other contact information.
Develop a web ad for your home, complete with pictures. These usually cost less than $30 and can reach many buyers. If you’re not good with digital cameras and the internet, ask a local high school or college student to help you. They know all the latest technology. Most internet providers allow you a web page for your home ad, and you can place your advertisement on sites like MLShub.com as well. Be sure to include your ad’s internet address on your other advertisements.
Develop a flyer with information about your home, its features, asking price and your contact information. Include pictures of your home. Distribute the flyers to local businesses, neighborhoods, apartment complexes and grocery store bulletin boards. You may even want to hire another teenager to put flyers on the windshields of cars at the local shopping center. Postcards with your home’s information can be mailed to local addresses as well.
If you work on developing a comprehensive campaign to sell your home, you’ll most likely be pleased with the response you get.
