Postcards have the capability to enhance an agents real estate marketing program by generating a response from prospect. The biggest difficulty which a real estate agent faces is finding a way of constantly generating new clients & this problem can be solved by regularly sending postcards to the target prospective clients.
However, if an agent doesnt differentiate his/her postcard from others in some way then he/she would be limiting his/her target base. One of the best ways to differentiate ones postcards is just by adding value to it. Five effective method which are used to add value to an agents postcard are
One could look at starting a tip of the month series; which could be followed up by evoking the prospective client to make a phone call or send an email etc..
It is very important for an agent to showcase his/her past performance. It doesnt mean one has to boast or brag, just the factual data like X houses sold for X price etc should be enough.
Peoples attention can be instantly captured by a newspaper style headline. Headlines like low interest rate or excellent location at affordable price etc always captivate the potential buyer.
One needs to make a good offer through the postcard; something like call me for a free property consultation etc, which would motivate the buyer to call the agent.
A good testimonial would always give the buyer a comfort factor & an urge to proceed; especially if the testimonial comes from a known source.

To conclude, postcards can be regarded as an incredibly effective tool to increase personal commission & name recognition for agents. However, one must remember that a client would not immediately respond to a postcard. Postcards should be sent to clients on a regular basis so that when he/she thinks of a property transaction the agents name should immediately pop up in his /her head.
