Planning a Real Estate Postcard Campaign

Marketing with real estate postcards is an efficient, low-cost way to generate leads and name recognition, but a little planning before you print out and mail those postcards can make your campaign even more effective.

First, decide what the purpose of the mailing is. Are you looking to keep in touch with former buyers and sellers? Do you want to let the neighborhood know that you are the expert in their area? Maybe you want to thank people for attending a particularly successful open house or announce your new office location. Since your postcard should concentrate on one primary message, decide exactly what you want to get across before printing. A clear message will get more attention than a card with too much crammed on it.

Make sure that you emphasize the benefits of your announcement or services. Is your new office more convenient? Are your open houses getting great response for your sellers? Consider what is in it for your target market and let them know about it.

You’ll want to make sure that your card is attractive enough to be kept for awhile, and that it has every form of contact information available for you. Afterall, you want your customers to keep the card and be able to find you at a moment’s notice.

Postcards are effective, but postcards with offers are very effective. Offer your customers something with the card. Offer free refreshments at the open house or a free calendar if they stop by your new office. Nothing says “read me” like the word free!

Tell your prospects/customers what action to take. Ask them to remember you, list with you, or come by and see your new office. Supplying your customer with the next step makes it easier for them to take that step, and contact you!

Planning your real estate postcard campaign can help you get the most out of your mailing. By designing your postcard with the ultimate goal in mind, you’ll create a more effective mailing.
