Tip of the Week

Make sure your photos are 300 dpi or better. What does that mean?

It means DON’T pull your photos off your website. Use the original photos from your digital camera, or scan color prints at the highest resolution your scanner will allow.

Warning: Low-Resolution Images Don't Print Well!

Many images, particularly 72dpi jpegs taken off the Internet, look jagged and blurry when printed on paper, especially glossy stock. Those images have already been reduced in resolution so they load fast on the internet, and you can’t go backwards to make a low resolution file into high resolution. You need to start with a high resolution file. For best results, we recommend that your images be at least 300dpi (dots per inch). The best thing to do is send us the original images from your digital camera.

To get good images from your digital camera, use the highest quality setting available on the camera.

Tiffany Lamps - What You Need To Know Before You Buy One

Buying a tiffany lamp has rarely been easier. Before you begin your search, you must understand what you are searching for and the words that are used to depict tiffany lamps, tiffany style lamps, and tiffany reproduction lamps. Foremost, the phrase tiffany lamps has become rather generic as the years go by. Similar to how the term kleenex is referred to as. Kleenex is really a name of a brand, even so, there are those who use it in place of the word facial tissue. The same with Tiffany Lamps. At one time, in the late 19th century when you heard of tiffany lamps it almost immediately brought to mind the lamps that were being manufactured by L.C. Tiffany, the master craftsman of the art nouveau movement. As time goes by the term tiffany lamps has been used in place of the term tiffany style lamps. Simply put, a tiffany style lamp, commonly referred to as a stained glass lamp, such as the Flowering  Lotus Accent Lamp by Meyda Tiffany  is a table lamp hand assembled using with  handcrafted artglass (stained glass), and the copper foil method of soldering. Tiffany style table lamps are usually assembled using comparable designs and ideas of the early tiffany lamps, as seen in the well known Apple Orchard Table Lamp. The colors and designs have been updated to better match with the decorating styles that are popular today.

Tiffany Reproductions

Tiffany Reproductions Lamps, are exactly that, reproductions of the original lamps by Louis Comfort Tiffany. These reproduction Tiffany lamps, like the well known Tiffany wisteria lamps or the Tiffany Cob Web lamps are exact replicas of the lamps created by the master craftsman himself. These lamps are made by applying the lost wax method of metal casting which allows the original lamps to be duplicated to the smallest detail. These lamps are museum caliber and provide an attractive "Touch of Tiffany" without breaking your pocketbook. Most reproduction tiffany lamps by the industry's leading manufacturers, Dale Tiffany and Meyda Tiffany, will generally run you almost $500.00 to $2000.00. For those who  live on a tight budget, a Tiffany style lamp, such as the popular  Cassandra Table Lamp by Dale Tiffany will be a better choice. The tiffany style table lamps will usually cost in the $300.00 range based on the size and complexity of the design. Lighting your home with Tiffany lighting has become so popular these days as decorating styles become less and less inventive.

Exquisite stained glass floor lamps are an additional way to contribute color and style to your bedroom. For those who need indirect light , perhaps a Tiffany torchiere floor lamp such as the Dogwood Torchiere Lamp by Meyda might be the more practical selection. With a torchiere floor lamp (also called an uplight) light shines up and deflected away from your ceiling for a more ambient look. To get more direct light, you might want to think about standard tiffany style floor lamps with the shade facing down as seen in the New Floral Tiffany Floor Lamp. Downbridge Tiffany floor lamps, like the Tavern Collection by Meyda, permit you to align the position of the lamp shade and can be perfect for specific projects such as mending or reading. Most of the tiffany downbridge floor lamps have matching tiffany table lamps to finalize the look.

Everyone, including you, regardless of your budget, preferences, or expressive style, can call for Tiffany lamps no shipping charges at the greatest web based retailer of tiffany lighting fixtures created by the industry's best known manufacturers, Dale Tiffany and Meyda Tiffany.
