Tip of the Week

Make sure your photos are 300 dpi or better. What does that mean?

It means DON’T pull your photos off your website. Use the original photos from your digital camera, or scan color prints at the highest resolution your scanner will allow.

Warning: Low-Resolution Images Don't Print Well!

Many images, particularly 72dpi jpegs taken off the Internet, look jagged and blurry when printed on paper, especially glossy stock. Those images have already been reduced in resolution so they load fast on the internet, and you can’t go backwards to make a low resolution file into high resolution. You need to start with a high resolution file. For best results, we recommend that your images be at least 300dpi (dots per inch). The best thing to do is send us the original images from your digital camera.

To get good images from your digital camera, use the highest quality setting available on the camera.

How to choose a place to learn Spanish in Argentina

If you want to learn Spanish in Argentina, well you've got a little problem. Which place should you choose? Argentina is a large country that has many Spanish schools in which you can learn Spanish, so depending on what you are looking for will be your decision.

The most common option is the capital city of Argentina, Buenos Aires. This cosmopolitan city has a variety of offers regarding Spanish courses, so if you want to learn Spanish you will certainly do it. This great city is full of life and movement, there are thousand of hidden corners to discover, and of course, you will find the places that made Buenos Aires so famous, like the Colon Theatre, la Boca neighborhood, the Pink House (Government House) and other important buildings.

One drawback Buenos Aires has if you learn Spanish there, is that everywhere you will find foreigners, so English is heard in practically every square of the city. As the capital city, Buenos Aires is the entrance gate of Argentina, which is one of the main reason why there are so many outsiders, lot of them also take Spanish courses in Buenos Aires.

Then you have Cordoba, a Mediterranean city where you can also learn Spanish. Known as the heart of Argentina, Cordoba also offers a wide range of Spanish courses. The city, not as big as Buenos Aires, has it particular life characterized by university students; they take over the downtown and one of the liveliest neighborhoods of Cordoba, so if you choose this city to take a Spanish course be prepared to live at the rhythm of young people.

But Cordoba is not only young people and excitement; you also have a very important legacy from ancient times, in the mountains you can find traces from natives, then in the city itself you can visit Jesuit buildings, the house of the vice king Sobremonte and a lot of landmarks that will teach you a lot of history. You will learn Spanish in cordoba but also you will complement with historical knowledge about the city and Latin America, as it was an important hub in colonial times. Spanish courses are complemented with cultural approachment.

Another option to learn Spanish is Mendoza, the capital city of the province with the same name. It is smaller than Cordoba, but has its own enchants; the city has big shades of beautiful trees and tiny canals. In the surroundings you will find lots of vineyards, the main production of this place, so while you are taking a Spanish course in Mendoza you can try delicious wines.

Bariloche is another possible destination to learn Spanish. The city has a European style and is well known for its chocolates production and ski resort. Spanish courses can be combined with ski classes in winter, and in summer you can enjoy the beautiful lakes that surround the whole area.

Last but not least is Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the entire world. To learn Spanish in Ushuaia is a real challenge, not to mention in winter, but the city has a unique enchant of being at the end of the world. Its famous lighthouse, the jail of the end of the world, its landscape, makes this destination a paradise for adventure seekers. You can find different types of Spanish courses in Ushuaia, the last destination in Argentina.
