Tip of the Week

Make sure your photos are 300 dpi or better. What does that mean?

It means DON’T pull your photos off your website. Use the original photos from your digital camera, or scan color prints at the highest resolution your scanner will allow.

Warning: Low-Resolution Images Don't Print Well!

Many images, particularly 72dpi jpegs taken off the Internet, look jagged and blurry when printed on paper, especially glossy stock. Those images have already been reduced in resolution so they load fast on the internet, and you can’t go backwards to make a low resolution file into high resolution. You need to start with a high resolution file. For best results, we recommend that your images be at least 300dpi (dots per inch). The best thing to do is send us the original images from your digital camera.

To get good images from your digital camera, use the highest quality setting available on the camera.

Autoresponder Tips

Here's a list of some of the most common "best practices" when using e-mail autoresponders in your e-commerce business.

If you're just getting started using an e-mail autoresponder in your business in these tips should help you establish more rapport with your subscribers, and convert a higher percentage of your e-commerce business into sales.

Use a system that offers your subscribers a double opt in option. While this will lower your overall subscriber rate, it will give you a better qualified lead. And when using an autoresponder be sure to send a thank you letter and newsletter to each person that signs up to be on your mailing list.

  • Never send reminder messages to let someone know that they almost won or might win a contest that they have entered. That will get them to unsubscribe from your web site.

  • Never use an autoresponder to hammer your subscribers with unsolicited product sales pitches for other products. This isn't what your subscribers suspected to get when they subscribed, and misleading them this way is a sure way to get them to unsubscribe.

  • Never buy e-mail addresses and upload them to your autoresponder. Nine times out of 10 these e-mail addresses are not opt in, regardless of what you are promised, and you'll quickly generate so many complaints that you will lose your autoresponder account almost immediately.

  • Never use a false return e-mail address, or try to fake where your messages are coming from. Besides being dishonest it's also against the law.

  • Never add people to your mailing list unless you tell them that you are doing it, and have their permission to do so.

On the flip side there are some things that you should always do when using e-mail autoresponders.

  • Always make sure that your autoresponder service automatically includes removal instructions, so that subscribers that wish to opt out can do so easily with one click.

  • Always provide a valid contact address in addition to the autoresponder address. This way customers can contact you directly.

  • Always create a strong subject line consisting of no more than six words, and uses subscribers first name if at all possible. Many autoresponder services now offer automatic mail merge in the body and subject heading of the message.

  • Always keep your paragraphs short. No more then three to five lines per paragraph. This makes it easy for the e-mail subscriber to quickly scan your message and this way they are less likely to delete it.

  • Always include a full postal address at the end of each autoresponder message. Doing so not only increases the chances of your sales conversion, but it is also the law under the 2004 CAN SPAM Act.

When looking for a reputable autoresponder provider here are a few things to look for:

Unlimited autoresponder providers should offer unlimited messages and auto responders for one flat fee, without extra charges for broadcast mail.

They should also let you to send HTML or text messages and let you have unlimited broadcast and newsletter messages.

One a side note, providers like 1AutomationWiz.Com allow you to personalize your Unlimited autoresponder messages with each subscriber’s name and add up to 25 or more other custom data fields.

There are many great unlimited autoresponder services out there. Many offer a free version if you are low on cash. Unlimited autoresponders also allow you to send a thank you for signing the guest book to anyone who signs your guest book on your web site. But the biggest benefit is that Unlimited autoresponders are an easy way to automate your business by doing all of the emailing for you.

To get your free 30 day trial of a really great e-mail on responder service, try the auto responders at 1AutomationWiz.Com
